The Global First Ladies Alliance supports First Ladies and their Offices to set and implement priorities, establish strategic partnerships, and develop strategies to generate positive impact through First Lady Roundtables, a Senior Advisor Fellowship, and one-on-one strategic advice.

Refolda supports the Global First Ladies Alliance with curriculum development and implementation, strategic partnerships, monitoring and evaluation, and tailored advice to First Ladies’ Senior Advisors. 

In 2023, Refolda helped the Global First Ladies Alliance, Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and the Organization of African First Ladies for Development launch the first Global First Ladies Academy - a certified executive leadership program in health and development. The inaugural academy was attended by the First Ladies and Senior Advisors from Botswana, Burundi, The Gambia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. As part of the Academy, Dr. Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States, participated in a roundtable with the attending First Ladies to discuss their respective priorities, challenges, and opportunities with the First Lady’s platform.
